Renovation Vision

We are thrilled to unveil plans for a renovation project that will reshape how we gather, learn, and grow together as a community. This is more than a building project. It's an investment in every generation of our parish family — from our youngest children to our college students and beyond.

A Reimagined Undercroft

At the heart of this renovation is a fully updated undercroft. Redesigned from the ground up to serve the growing ministries of St. Matthew. The new undercroft will include:

  • Three dedicated classrooms for religious education (Catechesis of the Good Shepherd)

  • A campus ministry and youth room — a home base for our high school and college students

  • A children's area designed specifically for our littlest parishioners

  • A brand-new music room to support our musicians and cantors who enrich our worship every week

  • A small meeting room for gatherings, formation, and community conversation

  • New bathrooms

For years, our Religious Education program, Youth Ministry, and Campus Ministry have made the most of the spaces we have. This renovation gives them the dedicated, purpose-built environments they deserve.

A New Connection: Gathering Space Between Church and Field House

Another element of this project is a new addition connecting the church directly to the field house. A welcoming entry point that makes it easy for parishioners to move between the two buildings without stepping outside.

Right now, getting from Mass to an event in the hall means navigating the parking lot regardless of the weather. This new connection space changes that entirely. It creates a natural, comfortable path from the church into the field house.

The renderings show both the exterior addition and the interior, and it's a significant upgrade to how the whole campus connects and functions.

Accessibility for All

This project also includes a long-overdue commitment to full accessibility! Elevator access to the undercroft and to both levels of the field house. Every member of our parish family deserves to participate fully in the life of this community, and these additions ensure that no one is left out.

What Comes Next

We are so grateful for the vision, generosity, and prayerful support that has brought us to this moment. In the weeks ahead, we will be sharing more details about timeline and how the project will be funded.

Stay tuned! In the meantime, keep this project in your prayers. Great things are coming to St. Matthew.
